Looney Tunes. Violence! Explosions! It’s going to teach the kids to run off cliffs and blow each other up! *hand wringing* Have you seen kids’ cartoons now? Ugh.

Kids TV is much worse these days. It’s all about how to be snarky and smart assed.

Thank goodness they are kept away from this sort of visual violence with Grand Theft Auto, COD, etc...

Exactly. I mean, Looney Tunes has its problems when you think through it as an adult, but it was laugh out loud funny as a kid.

No lie, me and my service adviser at Aston fad a good 15 min conversation about cartoon of our day and whatever odd stuff is out today. Summed up, today’s stuff just has no spirit or soul.

I’ll agree that the majority are worse than in the bygone days, but I’d say there are also some standouts that are exemplary, perhaps because they intentionally play to both a child and adult audience. Phineas and Ferb, for example, was full of in-jokes and references that were clearly aimed at adults. And Avatar/Legend of Korra was just plain good storytelling.

Phineas and Ferb is the one example i was going to use of a modern cartoon that I can live with, it’s fun.
